BUSINESS OBJECTIVE

The primary business objective of the project I designed at Aris Global was to revolutionize and streamline the clinical trial site selection process through the development of a user-friendly, efficient, and data-driven platform application.

The core of this application, the Questionnaire Builder, empowered users to craft custom site viability surveys and manage real-time global survey distribution and validation. This strategic project aimed to expedite clinical trials, acknowledging the critical role of time in pharmacovigilance, ultimately resulting in cost savings and improved patient outcomes.

 

THE PROCESS

Revolutionizing Trials: Questionnaire Builder Launch through Collaborative Innovation

Leading as the sole visual designer on the transformative clinical trial site selection project, collaboration with the Design Research Head and Clinical Product Manager was essential. Together, within a cross-functional team, we initiated the launch of the innovative Questionnaire Builder, ensuring a cohesive approach to achieve project goals efficiently.

WORKSHOP AND RESEARCH

Researching Insights for User-Centric Interface Design

We conducted user and SME interviews of the current product and discovery research to uncover key business and technology requirements, serving a wide range of stakeholders. I also studied an range of “survey generation” type products from industry leaders to shape our user-focused interface.

 

Visual Exploration & Design

Crafting a Seamless User Interface for Enhanced Project Objectives

I utilized research findings to craft a user-friendly interface that aligned with project objectives. I also developed a comprehensive flowchart that mapped out the entire user journey, from invitation to questionnaire creation, data collection, and integration for future analytics.

Prototyping & Refinement

High-fidelity UI design and prototypes for stakeholder and dev consumption

We iteratively refined the application, collaborating with PMs, stakeholders, and engineers to create a user-centric Questionnaire Builder that precisely addressed specific user needs.

 
 

The Work

Navigating the monumental task of overhauling clinical trial site selection, I served as the sole dedicated designer, grappling with tight timelines and ambitious goals. Despite a lean team and geographical divides, collaborative efforts with design counterparts across domains proved pivotal. This agile approach ensured adaptability, allowing us to respond efficiently to evolving project needs. The collective design intelligence became crucial in overcoming challenges and achieving positive breakthroughs despite project shifts and resource reallocations.
