Company Background

Workforce Software is a company that provides the WorkForce Suite, a cloud-based program that helps businesses and organizations manage global employee time and attendance, absences/leave and accommodations, scheduling, labor forecasting, data capture, analytics, compliance, and employee productivity. It is the first global provider of workforce management solutions with integrated employee experience capabilities.

CHALLENGE

Keeping execs and managers fingers on the pulse of their company

WorkForce Software is working to include KPIs in their premier Suite platform via the Insights card to provided a direct view of these key business imperatives to their customers. A KPI or Key Performance Indicator is a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively a company is achieving key business objectives. Organizations use KPIs at multiple levels to evaluate their success at reaching targets.

Our team was met with the challenge of bringing these “Insights” (KPI’s) to life making them easily accessible, digestible and an invaluable tool for our customers executive users and upper level management.

Beginnings I: Foundational research & Sketching

Study what exists and see where we can go

Starting with an in-depth research of common dashboard KPI patterns and competitive analysis I was able to start drafting some rudimentary sketches and wireframes for how these KPI’s could be integrated to the WorkFore Suite.

Beginnings II: Design GUIDE

Establish rapport and expectations with 3rd-party vendor

I was tasked to work not only with the internal design team but with a 3rd party vendor which would provide the KPI content that would be the nougat of the Insights KPI dashboard components. My first task was to provide a general guide to the vendor of how we’d like to see these KPI’s integrated to our product taking into consideration our design system, our product patterns and meeting accessibility standards.

SOLUTION

High-fidelity UI design and prototypes for stakeholder and dev consumption

The WF Suite Insights addition was met with excitement by internal stakeholders and customers alike. The Insights cards were launched to the first customer for live testing Fall of 2021 and a larger of early adopters is planned for early 2022.
